Apakah Kata Positif itu??

Rahasia Kehidupan Sukses by Peter Wade Surat Kolose, pasal, ayat 2, "pikirkanlah perkara yang diatas." Here we are exhorted to set our thinking (kata "mind" is phroneo, thoughts) atas perkara Allah. Your mind has the ability to concentrate upon a specific matter, and to remain in that state of concentration for a period of time. There are mentioned in the Word specific things upon which we, as believers, should concentrate our thinking. Mengapa Menderita Asaf, salah satu penulis Mazmur, memberi kita pemahaman pertama first insight into this subject in Psalm 77.

Ia mengajarkan kepada kita tentang waktu dalam kehidupannya sendiri when he faced serious problems. His autobiography in this Psalm tells us, "When I was in distress, I sought the Lord; at night I stretched out untiring hands and my soul refused to be comforted" (verse 2). His mind refused to be comforted. To look within will make us miserable. How to be distracted One another occasion, Asaph did not spend time looking within but his error was equally as bad. Looking back upon the incident, he starts with a positive statement in Psalm 73:1, "Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart.

Tetapi bagiku... I envied the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked" (verse 2-3). Asaph's problem was not of looking within, of feeling unworthy, of feeling unable to do things; his problem was one of looking without, at other people. To look within will make us miserable; to look around will distract us. Then where should we look? How to be radiant To understand the positive viewpoint as to what we should concentrate upon, we will look at several verses in different parts of the Word. Since we have used the Psalms for our material so far in this study, let us first notice these words in Psalm 34:5, "Those who look to him are radiant..." This statement of fact is given by David, following his testimony of God's goodness in his life. "I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears" (verse 4). He then states, "Those who look to him are radiant", to show that this situation is common to all God's people who will adjust and control their thinking. The result of looking unto Him is to be radiant; to have a smile on your lips, a song in your heart, and a spring in your step. Since God is Spirit, this looking to Him cannot mean a physical look. It means to concentrate upon the nature and acts of a loving Father. In the book of Hebrews we are exhorted untuk meneladani Yesus. Dalam pasal 12 dan ayat 2 tertulis: "Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of [our] faith..." The impact of the words "fix our eyes" is interesting and vital in the Greek. A more literal translation would be, "Looking away from all else unto Jesus." Not just a brief glimpse or a fleeting thought, but a continued, prolonged concentration upon what God did for us in Christ Jesus. We should look unto Jesus, for He said, "Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father" (John 14:9). Mari kita mengingat that looking within will make us miserable; looking around will cause us to be distracted; but looking unto Him is the great secret of radiant Christian living. Filipi 4:6,7, “Janganlah hendaknya kamu kuatir tentang apapun juga, tetapi nyatakanlah dalam segala hal keinginanmu kepada Allah dalam doa dan permohonan dengan ucapan syukur. Damai sejahtera Allah, yang melampaui segala akal, akan memelihara hati dan pikiranmu dalam Kristus Yesus”
